Deleting a resource in Nexalytica does not immediately destroy it. Instead, the item moves to the Trash, where it remains recoverable for three days. During that window you can restore it to its original location with all its sharing settings and ownership intact. After three days the item is permanently and automatically removed — with no way for anyone, including admins, to recover it. If you need to remove something sooner, you can also choose to delete it forever directly from the Trash.

How the 3-day window works

1

Delete a resource

Delete any dashboard, data source, data store, vector store, file, folder, or chat anywhere in the platform. The item moves to Trash immediately and disappears from its normal listing.
2

Countdown begins

A countdown badge appears on the item in Trash showing how much time is left before automatic permanent removal.
3

Restore or delete forever

At any point within the three-day window, restore the item to recover it or delete it forever to remove it immediately.
4

Automatic permanent removal

When the countdown reaches zero, Nexalytica permanently deletes the item automatically. No further action is required from you, and the deletion cannot be reversed.

Reading a Trash row

Each item in the Trash shows the following information:

Countdown badges

When a badge reads Deletes today, restore the item immediately if you need it. After automatic removal, no one — including Org Admins — can recover it.

Restoring a resource

1

Open Trash

Navigate to Trash from the sidebar or main navigation.
2

Find the item

Locate the resource you want to recover. Use the resource type and deleted-by columns to identify it if the list is long.
3

Click Restore

Click Restore on the item’s row. The item is immediately moved out of Trash and returned to its original location.
A restored item reappears in its original location with all previous sharing settings and ownership exactly as they were before deletion. It disappears from the Trash listing immediately.

Deleting forever

If you are certain you no longer need an item, you can permanently remove it before the three-day window expires.
1

Click Delete forever

Click Delete forever on the item’s row in Trash.
2

Confirm the action

A confirmation dialog appears:
Permanently delete this resource? This cannot be undone.
Click Delete forever in the dialog to confirm, or Cancel to return to Trash without deleting.
Permanent deletion is irreversible. Once you confirm, the resource is gone immediately and cannot be recovered by anyone, including Org Owners and Admins. Double-check that you have selected the right item before confirming.

Empty Trash

When Trash contains no items, the page displays a Trash is empty message with a reminder that deleted items are held for three days before being automatically and permanently removed.

Troubleshooting

If the Trash list fails to load, a Retry button appears. Click it to reload the list.

Permissions

Once a resource is permanently deleted — either by manual Delete forever or by the automatic 3-day expiry — it cannot be undone by anyone, including Org Admins and Org Owners.
