Your Nexalytica profile controls how you appear to colleagues across the platform — in shared dashboards, department members lists, notifications, and chat. You can update your display name and profile icon at any time. A few additional personal preferences — theme and active department — live in the user menu rather than the Profile page itself, and are covered at the end of this guide. All signed-in users have their own Profile page; no admin role is required.

Opening your profile

1

Open the user menu

Click your name and avatar at the bottom of the left sidebar to open the user menu.
2

Select Profile

Click Profile in the menu. The Profile page opens.

Editing your profile

Avatar preview

At the top of the Profile page, the avatar preview shows exactly how your profile icon will appear throughout the platform. If you have not set a custom image URL, the avatar displays your initials (taken from your first and last name).

Updating your name

Click into either field and type your updated name. Both fields feed into the initials displayed in the avatar preview when no custom icon is set.

Setting a custom profile icon

Enter a publicly accessible image URL in the Profile icon URL field. The image must use an http or https address — other URL schemes are not accepted. Leave the field blank to revert to your initials.
Use a square image at least 200 × 200 pixels for the best result across all the sizes at which your avatar appears in the platform.
The URL must be publicly accessible. If the image is behind a login or access restriction, it will not load for other users.

Email address

Your email address is displayed on the Profile page but cannot be edited here. It is set by your sign-in method (for example, your SSO provider or the email you used to register) and must be changed through that provider.

Saving your changes

Click Save changes when you are happy with your updates. The button label changes to Saving… while the request is in flight, then shows a confirmation message on success. If something goes wrong, an error message appears and your previous values are preserved. Your updated name and icon apply platform-wide immediately after saving.

Personal preferences in the user menu

The following preferences are set directly from the user menu (click your name and avatar in the sidebar) rather than on the Profile page.

Theme

Choose System, Light, or Dark to set your personal display preference.

Department

Switch your active working department. Only departments you belong to appear in this list. Changing your active department affects context-sensitive features like default data sources and agent scope.
The user menu also contains shortcuts to Organisation settings, Platform settings, and Sign out.
