Left Sidebar
The sidebar runs along the left edge of the app at all times. It is divided into two zones.Top Zone — Contextual Area
The top zone changes to reflect wherever you are in the app. It displays the items belonging to your current section — for example, your list of chats when you are in Chats, or your saved dashboards when you are in Dashboards. It also contains:- A search box to filter items in the current section quickly.
- A Create button to add a new item of the current type. The button label matches the area you are in: New Chat in Chats, New Dashboard in Dashboards, Add Source in Data Sources, New Agent in Agent Foundry, and New Session in Work Bench.
Bottom Zone — Fixed Navigation
The bottom zone never changes. It holds the primary navigation links for the entire platform:Collapsing the Sidebar
Click the collapse toggle (the arrow icon at the sidebar edge) to shrink the sidebar down to an icon-only rail. This gives your workspace more horizontal space. When the sidebar is collapsed, hovering over any icon shows its name as a tooltip. Click the toggle again to expand the sidebar back to full width.Resource Tabs
Every resource you open — a chat, a dashboard, a data source — appears as a tab across the top of the main content area. Tabs let you keep multiple resources open at the same time and switch between them instantly. Tabs stay open as you move between different areas of the app.Opening and Closing Tabs
Click any item in the sidebar to open it as a tab. To open a resource in a background tab without switching to it immediately, middle-click the row, or hold Cmd (macOS) / Ctrl (Windows/Linux) and click. To close a tab, click the × on the tab itself, or press Ctrl+W (Windows/Linux) / Cmd+W (Mac) to close the active tab.Tab Context Menu
Right-click any tab to reveal additional close options:Reordering Tabs
Drag any tab left or right along the tab bar to reorder it. Nexalytica updates the tab order immediately.Tab Keyboard Shortcuts
Use these shortcuts to move between tabs without touching the mouse:Command Palette
The Command Palette is the fastest way to navigate anywhere in Nexalytica without lifting your hands from the keyboard. Press Ctrl+K (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+K (Mac) to open it. Start typing the name of any page, resource, or action — results appear instantly. Use the arrow keys to move through results, then press Enter to navigate, or click any result directly. Press Esc or the same shortcut again to close the palette without navigating.Breadcrumbs
On settings pages, a breadcrumb trail appears at the top of the content area showing your current position within the settings hierarchy. Click any segment in the breadcrumb to jump back to that level instantly. On wider screens, a Search… button (⌘K) also appears alongside the breadcrumb for quick navigation.Organisation Switcher
The organisation switcher appears in the sidebar header on settings pages, and in the account chrome on other screens. It lists all organisations associated with your account, grouped by status:- Active organisations — click any to switch into it immediately.
- Suspended organisations — shown for visibility; access is limited until the suspension is resolved.
User Menu
Click your avatar or name in the sidebar footer to open the user menu. It shows your name and your currently active department. It contains the following options:Notification Bell
The notification bell icon sits in the sidebar footer. A badge on the icon shows the count of unread notifications. Click the bell to open the notification panel. Notifications are organised into five tabs:
Opening the panel automatically marks all visible notifications as read.
Plan Banners
Nexalytica displays banners at the top of the workspace to keep you informed about your plan status. These banners appear automatically — you do not need to check a settings page to stay aware.Trial Banner
Shown throughout your free trial. The banner is grey for most of the trial period, turns amber when 3 or fewer days remain, and switches to a red, non-dismissible banner on the final day. An Upgrade now link takes you directly to the plan picker. Upgrade to a paid plan at any time to remove it.
Past-Due Banner
Appears when a payment for a paid plan has failed and the invoice is overdue. This banner is non-dismissible and warns you that the account will become read-only if payment is not resolved, including a countdown showing how much time remains. Click Update card to update your payment method and clear the banner.
Read-Only Banner
Displayed when your organisation has entered read-only mode (typically after a past-due period). This banner is non-dismissible and all mutating actions — creating, editing, or deleting resources — are disabled. Click Update card to resolve the billing issue and restore full access.
