This section describes how an organisation admin can temporarily view resources owned by other members through administrative privilege, with every access audited and logged. By default, every resource listing in Nexalytica is private: you only see resources you own or that were shared with you. Admin (Implicit) Access is the one governed exception, reserved for org and department admins.

How it works

When an org or department admin turns on the Show data from my admin access toggle on a resource listing (for example, Data Sources), the listing switches from showing only their own resources to additionally showing resources owned by other members that they can reach solely through their administrative role. Because viewing other members’ resources is a sensitive, auditable action:
  • An acknowledgement dialog appears every time you turn the toggle on. There is no “remember my choice”.
  • Only after you click I understand, continue does the admin listing load.
  • Each time the admin listing is fetched, the action is recorded in the Audit Log, including which members or departments you chose to view.
  • Turning the toggle back off returns you to your normal, private listing and clears any owner filter you had selected.

Narrowing what you see — the owner filter

While the admin view is on, an owner filter appears so you can focus on specific people or departments instead of browsing everyone at once:
  • Expand one or more departments to view their members’ resources.
  • Tick individual member checkboxes to narrow further.
  • Leave all unchecked to see all members’ resources in the admin view.
Your selection both filters the on-screen list and is captured as context in the Audit Log entry.

Where it appears

Admin (Implicit) Access shows up as the Show data from my admin access toggle on resource listings such as Data Sources, Dashboards, Files, Folders, and Agents. It is not available on chat threads.

Auditing

Every entry into admin view is logged automatically. Admins can review who used admin view, when, and which members or departments were in scope from the organisation’s Audit Log.

Who can use it

  • Organisation Admin — can see the toggle and enter implicit access. Each use requires acknowledgement and is audited.
  • Department Admin — can see the toggle for their own department. Each use requires acknowledgement and is audited.
  • Managers — no implicit access.
  • Employees / Members — no implicit access.
  • Audit reviewers (org admins) — can review the full implicit-access history in the Audit Log.
